February 2025 - Upcoming Events
A fantastic February of sport is on the cards, starting with the blockbuster action from rugby’s Six Nations. The new season of the tournament started at the beginning of the month, with Ireland seeking a historic third consecutive title in the famous old competition. Rounds two and three will also happen during Ferburary as the excitement rumbles along.
The NFL’s Super Bowl is one of the month’s biggest sporting highlights. It’s one of the most-watched single sports events in the world, and this year’s edition sees a clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs are making a bid for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl win, something that’s never been achieved in the history of the NHL. Will star QB Patrick Mahomes lead them into the history book at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans?
There’s big football action ahead, too, with the qualification play-off round of the UEFA Champions League coming up. This is a second chance for teams to make the Round of 16 and features top ties like Man City vs Real Madrid and Celtic vs Bayern Munich.
In the NHL, the new Four Nations Face-off ice-hockey tournament will draw plenty of interest this month. It’s a mini international tournament between Canada, USA, Finland and Sweden in a round-robin format that replaces this year’s NHL All-Star match. The season of WTA and ATP Tennis will continue through February with tournaments like the big WTA1000 Dubai Duty-Free Championships and the men’s ATP500 version.
A three-match One Day International cricket series between India and England will play out throughout the month. The group stage of the ICC Champions Trophy starts on February 18th with Pakistan vs New Zealand for even more top ODI cricket action.
The Alpine World Ski Championship will take place over a couple of weeks in February, starting on the 4th. The top action on the slopes will come from Aspen, Colorado in the USA with the likes of Marco Odermatt, Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsey Vonn and Sofia Goggia starring.
